S.O.D. "Purple Heather" by Rod Stewart

7/18/2020  Scottish poet, Robert Tannahill, and Scottish composer, Robert Archibald Smith, published a song in 1821-24 named “The Braes of Balquhither.”  It is an Irish folk song that this song is based on.  Braes is Scottish for hills.  As it would turn out, many artists thought this song was special.  To date there are just under 100 versions.
