S.O.D. "Watermelon is Spoiling on the Vine" by Alan Lomax and Mary Elizabeth Barnicle

5/12/2020 One of the more popular recordings of this song that was done in 1935 in the Bahamas on Cat Island.  A native Bahamian did the singing.  Judging by this video and a lack of information, the song goes back much further than that.
