S.O.D. "What Do I Get" by Buzzcocks"

1/8/2019  This punk rock group’s primary singer songwriter, Pete Shelley, hit the road to Music Heaven on December 6, 2018.  He was active for 42 years right up till his death, which was a suspected heart attack.  Shelley formed the Buzzcocks in 1976 with fellow musician, singer songwriter, Howard Devoto.  Devoto left in ‘77 and the four years that followed produced some awesome material. In ‘81 the band needed a break.  It became an 8 year break, with a regrouping in 1989.  Critics referred to many of their songs as masterpieces of punk.

The band takes their name from seeing it in a Time Out magazine review of the TV series “Rock Follies.”  It was written as Buzz, Cock, with Buzz meaning the excitement of playing on stage, and Cock is Northern English slang for friend.
