S.O.D. "Joshua" by Dolly Parton

11/2/2017     Out of the 104 singles Parton released, this was one of her 18 #1 hits. It was in fact her first #1 hit going back to 1970, from the album of the same name.  So much can be said about this amazing artist who wears many more hats besides a female country singer.  Researching her songs, I discovered her tremendous yodeling abilities.  Miss Parton is the most awarded female country entertainer to date, and one of the very few to receive nominations for a Grammy, Tony award, Emmy award and an Oscar.  Including digital sales she has topped the 100 million mark worldwide.

She began her career writing songs for other artists, at which she was very successful.  In a 2009 interview with Larry King, she confessed to writing more than 3000 songs, beginning at the age of seven. She went on to say that she writes something every day, be it lyrics or an idea.  In 2001 she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Her work in philanthropy is huge, with many things going on at any given time.  Perhaps her biggest contribution is the Dolly Parton Imaginary Library, part of the Dollywood Foundation, which involves several children across the world enrolled in the program who receive one book per month from the time of their birth until they enter kindergarten.  Currently more than 10 million free books per year are distributed.

What's that? Oh, I didn't mention her breasts. Well here's something, she has turned down several offers to pose for Playboy, keeping them a mystery to the world. Way to go Dolly!!!!  Keep 'em guessing.
