S.O.D. "If Love is a Red Dress (Hang Me In Rags)" by Maria McKee

9/3/2015     This little gem doesn't seem to be on any of McKee's albums but was written and performed by her for the 1994 film Pulp Fiction.  It appears to be a song about finding and losing love with some cheating in there too. The lyrics are clever so check them out and make your own judgment.  It is the only song on the soundtrack that the artist is the sole writer, therefore the only original.

Out of Los Angeles and active since 1982, this artist keeps busy.  She has written books, made and starred in films and is very active in contributing her time and musicianship to other musicians and film projects.  Probably her most famous tune, "Show Me Heaven" was a #1 hit in the UK for four weeks and appeared on the Days of Thunder soundtrack.  She got her break in music at age 18 with Lone Justice, a country rock/rockabilly band which she cofounded. They opened for such groups as U2 and were active from 1982–1986. Look her up, she is well worth the read.
