S.O.D. "The Trees" by Rush

11/1/14     The group's drummer, Neil Peart, wrote the lyrics for this 1978 hard/progressive rock tune.  He explains in a 1980 interview with Modern Drummer Magazine that after seeing a picture of trees goofing off in a cartoon, he took off with the idea and wrote it as being a cartoon.  All three members had a writing credit.
